a little further up the tower

Welcome Officials! This is the place where you'll find information on new rules, interesting situations and other fun stuff. Linda Hockenbery and Carol Boice are the Western Region Judges and Scorers committee members. If you have comments (or complaints that are politely addressed) these two are extremely knowledgeable and helpful - unless of course you didn't heed the rule about being polite!

Judging

Scoring

Submitting Tournament Results: Send ZIP files (including condensed scorebooks and wsp files) to Laura Johnson. Laura will post scorebooks to the web and to the online seeding program. If you have not completed your post tournament official's reports electronically, please mail hard copy version to HQ. A hard copy of the scorebook is no longer required.

Drivers

New changes on the horizon in speed control. Check out the USAWS Towboat and Speed Control Committee page. And Senior Drivers don't forget - send a tape with your end course video to Pat Rogers.

Tech Stuff - for the Truly Brave Souls

Technical has gotten more and more, well, technical. Even our C class tournaments have more computers and monitors than a scorer could shake a stick at. Welcome to Technical Nerd Controller Company aka Tech Nerd Co Co founded by none other than Smilin Phil Yastrow.

Safety

You need to show proof of current First Aid and CPR when upgrading to State, Regional, and National Director and when attending a clinic. First Aid and CPR certifications are required every four years and can be American Red Cross or equivalent. Clinics are required every for years. It is recommended that First Aid and CPR certification be kept current. Upon renewal, send a copy of certification to USA Water Ski Headquarters. Contact Larry Goodwin with any questions.

Announcing

Speak Up! Announcing is one of the most critical aspects of a water ski tournament. Remember that the competitor on the water is the most important person at that point in time. Always remember to be family-friendly and polite.
